Mission Statement
The Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle is a non-profit Christian Fraternal organization under the sponsorship of
Prince Hall Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and Rite of Adoption for the State of South Carolina and Jurisdiction.

The organization seeks to inspire the companions to love who they are, enhance goal setting, and provide resources to assist with goal attainment. We are committed to empowering companions ages 6-18 through engagement and service.
Establishment
The Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle is a non-profit organization that has been a virtual part of the lives of the young girls since its founding in 1988. It is growing organization designated for the development of youth girls ages 6 to 18 and is sponsored by the Prince Hall Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star and Rite of Adoption for the State of South Carolina and Jurisdiction.
Purpose
The purpose of the Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle is to:

Train youth for a better tomorrow.

Promote association with worthwhile companions.

Stimulate interest in higher education.

Manage the challenge of the rapidly changing world of tomorrow.

Assist with the cultivation and strengthening the moral attitude of the youth, especially in conduct and appearance.

Become civic-minded in the community, rendering service wherever possible.

In 1988, a girls youth group was founded and sponsored by the
Prince Hall Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Jurisdiction of South Carolina. The leadership at that time was:
Brother Charles E. Riley - Most Worshipful Grand Master
Sister Catherine B. Carolina - Grand Worthy Matron
Brother C.W. Johnson - Grand Worthy Patron
Brother Edward M. Gibson - Special Deputy
Sister Willie Dean Stephens Bonner founded and organized the youth circle and named it the Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle.
In honor of the Immediate Past Grand Worthy Matron, Sister Mary B. Thomas. The Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle, under leadership of Sister Willie D. Bonner, the Grand State Mother Advisor (1987 - 1998), held its first convention in 1988 in Columbia, SC. The Companions of The Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle continue to grow and serve while working to continue activities that will promote a better world for today and the future.
