Goals & Objectives
Goal 1
To establish a platform that allows companions to express and embrace all of their gifts and talents and build leadership skills, confidence, and character while having fun.
Objective 1: MBTGYC will reach youth in the local community and within churches by offering services to meet their identifiable needs.
Objective 2: MBTGYC will identify the talents of the companions and find ways to promote those talents for the benefit of the unit and the community at large.
Objective 3: MBTGYC will provide opportunities for leadership training.
Objective 4: MBTGYC will facilitate positive engagement within units, districts, and the state by allowing the companions opportunities to collaborate.
Objective 5: MBTGYC will provide a platform for companions to engage in oratory development.
Goal 2
To establish and maintain subordinate units that build the companions’ capacity to participate in community -based service and outreach.
Objective 1: Companions will have access to information about service based activities in the community.
Objective 2: Companions will be connected to local and state (when possible) organizations such as the NAACP, churches, OES Chapters, Schools, etc.
Objective 3: MBTGYC will provide the companions an opportunity to participate in on-going service projects within the community.
Goal 3
To educate and bring awareness surrounding issues that influence and change the way developing girls think, feel, and present themselves.
Objective 1: Companions will engage in workshops that focus on self-awareness and positive interactions with their peers and others.
Objective 2: MBTGYC will have workshops in regular monthly meetings that focus on building positive Christian attributes, boost self-esteem, and serve as a platform for discussion of issues and challenges they face in their communities and surroundings.
Objective 3: MBTGYC will provide opportunities for health professionals to speak with companions about the importance of healthy living and hygiene.
Objective 4: MBTGYC will create mentoring opportunities from within the organization.
Objective 5: MBTGYC will provide companions with the opportunity to attend field-based learning activities.
Goal 4
To provide professional development and cultivation opportunities that enable companions to develop into productive self-sufficient citizens.
Objective 1: MBTGYC will assist companions in setting long and short term goals.
Objective 2: MBTGYC will provide training and workshops that focus on decision-making.
Objective 3: MBTGYC will enable companions to practice time management and prioritizing.
Objective 4: MBTGYC will assist high school companions in completing college applications and financial aid paperwork.
Objective 5: MBTGYC will provide employability skills training.
Goal 5
To advance girls’ access to education by encouraging the learning and growth of girls individually and collectively.
Objective 1: MBTGYC will provide companions with opportunities to engage in academia in the social setting of their regular monthly meetings.
Objective 2: MBTGYC will inform companions about economic and social issues that impede progress towards self-sufficiency.
Objective 3: MBTGYC will sponsor field trips that are education based and will provide companions the opportunity to engage in learning.
